What's a widowed mother to do with two children to provide for and Christmas coming soon? Noelle Welborn is in dire straits when she loses her job, is cheated out of her pay, and has no relatives to which she can turn. Then they lose the roof over their heads. Sleeping in the car seems the only option left.
Officer Nick Stewart stops when he spies a familiar looking car parked in a church parking lot late one night. Sure enough, she's the same pixie-faced woman he warned before. When he discovers she has kids asleep in the car, he insists she park in his yard or go to the police station with him.
But what about the next night, and the next?

Christmas Tears is a beautifully executed story of a young mother who is homeless at Christmas with her two young children a year after her husband dies. She is reduced to living in a car and taking charity from a nice couple who run a diner. She doesn't know what she will do, until Officer Nick shows up and tells her she cannot park overnight in an empty parking lot. Instead, he offers her his driveway and of course, from there, his house and his food for her and her kids. This story moves naturally and depicts Noelle's emotions as real and raw. There is much more to this story, but I don't want to spoil it. I was touched by it deeply and recommend it to other readers as a wonderful read at Christmas.Product details

Christmas Tears (Audible Audio Edition) Rebecca J Vickery Cynthia Ann Rebecca J Vickery Books Reviews
CHRISTMAS TEARS is a wonderful Christmas story. I hope the author will re-introduce it in December as a true Christmas Story. I don't think the author intended this tale to point to a real modern social issue, that of a young homeless woman with two small children, but as it turned out, that is what happened. Sometimes we overlook helpless, weak people, for absolutely no fault of their own , they find themselves on the street, homeless, with little money, and two little ones to care for.
This is what happens in this sweet emotional story.
The author expertly threw Noell and Nick together in a subtle but honest way, and by the end of the story, you will hope and wish for these two to find their way home...together with Noell's two young children. Tears came to my eyes at one point in the story, and if you read it, you'll know.
Well done, Rebecca Vickery.
